What Drives Us
Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity (SSHFH) is one of 1,250 U.S. affiliates of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit Christian housing ministry dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing around the world. Founded in 1976 by Millard and Linda Fuller, the Georgia-based nonprofit organization has built over 1.6 million houses in 70 countries.
Founded in April of 1987, Saginaw-Shiawassee Habitat for Humanity has built or renovated 192 houses and repaired over 500 homes in Saginaw & Shiawassee Counties.
Our work consists of building new homes, rehabbing vacant, abandoned or foreclosed homes and selling them to qualifying low-income households; repairing homes owned by low-income households and Financial Counseling for households that want to improve their financial picture but do not want to purchase a home.
